Rhino Running So Slow On Brand New Imac 6,0/10 3227 reviews
I'm new to the Apple world (coming from a long history of windows, Linux, and custom built computers) and I really don't know how to troubleshoot this. I have a brand new iMac (27') that was running Catalina. I go to turn it on one morning without having made any changes and it is SLOW. Like, took an hour to get to the login screen slow.
Hello, I have a problem with the archicad from the 19th version, now I'm using 21. I have a student version and the latest updates. Some operations are incredibly slow, for example, it takes about 0.5 seconds to return some action. The click of element to element is also slow and overall seems to me compared to the pc version is all slower even on a much less powerful machine. I have macbook retina 15 years in 2013. I have low resolution and it does not help. Do you know if this is a problem with all macbooks, or how to solve this problem? Reinstall system or archicad doesnt help.
Thank you for answer.
Bought a new imac last month, 27' 3.2Ghz, i3 processor 1tb HD, 4gb RAM
As it's so new, there's very little installed (iwork, FCP studio, audacity). And theres still over 800GB free space on the HD.
For the first few weeks the mac ran seamlessly, but in the last day or two it's been running extremely slow and sluggish.
It stalls on start up, taking ages to load, and when I try to open more than 1 application it takes forever.
I've noticed that it also hangs on itunes, freezing during the middle of songs, and takes ages to open any file or application.
I've installed all available system updates.
The activity report shows theres nothing running in the background (generally 97/98% CPU idle)
Although i've been using macs for years, this is the first one i've bought for myself, so I'm quite new to troubleshooting with macs (never encountered real problems before), so any advice on whats wrong/what i can do to fix this?
